How Wind Chimes Are Measured
Understanding how wind chimes are measured allows you to make the best
informed purchasing decision.
The industry standard measures from the very top of the hanging ring to the
bottom of the wind sail. There are many other factors including tube length,
tube diameter, and tube thickness that affffect the overall sound, tone, richness.
But, one of the basic considerations is simply the “size”.
Smaller or shorter chimes tend to have a higher-pitch tone. Bigger or longer
chimes tend to have a deeper tone. It’s really a matter of personal preference.
Do you prefer the peaceful, bell tower sound of a larger chime, or the bright, birdlike symphony of a smaller chime?
